Most of us are looking to lose some excess weight, especially at the first signs of warmer weather.

1. Hit the weights - lift as heavy as you possibly can. This will ramp up your metabolism the highest. You should be aiming for 6-10 reps.
2. Cardio - You need to get your cardio activity up. You don't have to do hours on end though, focus on doing short sharp springs, particularly at the beginning of the workout, and then you can do a steadier cardio workout. The Sprint phase helps release the fatty acids from the tissue to be burnt off during the steady cardio phase. This type of exercise can be much more effective in shifting the 'stubborn' fats from your body.

3. Correct Diet - Too much fat and carbohydrates in your diet will slow your progress. Proteins will help, generally speaking, as your body burns more calories digesting proteins. However, do not over do the protein intake. There is no need to exceed 1.5 grams per pound of body weight. Fill the rest of your calories with carbs around the workout period. Carbs after working out tends to be used directly into the muscle tissue rather than being stored as fat and Fats during the other times.


As long as you don't expect results overnight, and you continue to work hard there is no reason why within time, you can't be showing off your own six pack.
